A fresh puzzle goes live every day at midnight Eastern Time. The countdown on the home screen always points to the next one.

Base points by clues used: 100 / 80 / 60 / 40 / 20. Solve faster for a time bonus — up to +60 points (1 point per 3 seconds left on the 3-minute timer). Max possible score is 160.

Once you guess the departure city correctly, the first arrival clue is revealed for free and doesn't count against your score.

City names, airport names, and 3-letter IATA codes (e.g. LHR, JFK, NRT) are all accepted. Spelling is forgiving but be specific — 'London' works, 'England' doesn't.

Color shows how close you were by great-circle distance (red hot to way off — see the Distance Legend below). The arrow points from your guess toward the correct airport.

Miles are streak freezes. You earn one each time you solve the daily puzzle (capped at 3). If you miss a day, a Mile is automatically spent to keep your streak alive.

No — past puzzles you've completed stay locked to preserve your score. You can revisit results in the Archive, and play any unplayed past puzzle in Practice mode.

No. Practice puzzles are just for fun and don't count toward your daily streak, score history, or Miles.

An account syncs your streak, stats, and Miles across devices so you don't lose progress if you switch browsers or clear your data.
